The TravelTime toolbox runs its tools off existing point layers, rather than a single location; Geocoding reads a table of addresses. Click Show ArcPy toolbox in the TravelTime toolbar to open it.
| Toolset | Tools |
|---|---|
| Core | Isochrone Core, Travel Time Matrix Core, H3 Core |
| Custom | Isochrone Custom, Travel Time Matrix Custom, H3 Custom |
| Location Analytics | Territory Map, Reachability Heatmap, Doughnut Areas, Cannibalisation, Location Allocation |
| Other | Routes, Geocoding |
The Core and Custom versions of each tool take the same locations and write the same kind of output layer. Core tools use TravelTime's /fast endpoints: quicker, especially for large numbers of locations, but with fewer configurable parameters.
| Core | Custom | |
|---|---|---|
| Time of journey | A typical time period (currently weekday_morning) | A specific date, time and time zone |
| Transport modes | public_transport, walking+ferry, cycling+ferry, driving+ferry, driving+public_transport | 13 modes, including plain walking, cycling and driving |
| Maximum travel time | 180 minutes | 240 minutes |
| Advanced transport parameters | Some | All |
| Coverage | Fewer countries | All supported countries |
H3 tools cap the travel time by resolution instead; see H3.
The main parameters sit at the top of each tool. The optional ones are grouped into collapsible categories below them: Transportation options, Search range, Snapping and Shape options, described in Common parameters. An optional parameter left blank takes the API's default, and options the chosen transport mode doesn't support are disabled.
Every parameter has a tooltip in the tool dialog.
ID- the field that identifies each location in the output. Values must be unique and not empty. Left blank, the ObjectID is used.Fields To Keep- fields from the input layer to copy onto the output, matched on the location's ID, so the results carry your own attributes.Output Layer- must be saved into the project geodatabase.
How a tool behaves when a search fails, and how fast it sends requests, is set by Robust Mode and the Hits Per Minute limit in the add-in Settings.
Add-in 3.3 replaced the Simple, Advanced and Batch tools (see the Change log).
