These tools return the H3 hexagonal cells reachable within a travel time from (or to) each point in a layer, with travel times to each cell. H3 Core uses the /h3/fast endpoint and H3 Custom the /h3 endpoint; see Core vs Custom.
| Description | Tool | |
|---|---|---|
| Locations | The point layer to find reachable cells around | Both |
| ID | The field identifying each location in the output | Both |
| Travel Mode | See Core vs Custom | Both |
| Departing / Arriving | Whether the cells are for journeys departing from the locations or arriving at them | Both |
| Time Period | The typical time period journeys are calculated for | Core |
| Time Zone | The time zone the departure or arrival time is in | Custom |
| Departing / Arriving Time | The departure or arrival time | Custom |
| Travel time (in minutes) | The maximum journey time. The limit depends on the resolution (see below). | Both |
| Resolution | The size of the cells, from 4 (largest, about 1770 km²) to 12 (smallest, about 300 m²). Defaults to 8. | Both |
| Properties | Which travel time statistics to return for each cell: min, max and/or mean. Defaults to mean. | Both |
| Fields To Keep | Fields from the Locations layer to copy onto each cell | Both |
| Output Layer | Where to save the output - must be in the project geodatabase | Both |
The optional Transportation options, Search range (Custom only), Snapping and Remove Water Bodies are described on Common parameters.

A polygon layer with one row per reachable cell for each location: Index_id (the location's ID), h3_id, and a travel_time_min, travel_time_max or travel_time_mean field (in seconds) for each selected property. Cells are coloured by travel time.
