These optional parameters are grouped into collapsible categories below each tool's main parameters. Leave one blank to use the API's default. Options the chosen transport mode doesn't support are disabled in the dialog.
Times are in minutes, from 0 to 1440.
| Description | Default | |
|---|---|---|
| Public Transport Boarding Time | Time to board a public transport vehicle, added at every change between public transport legs | 0 |
| Walking Time | Maximum walking time at each end of a public transport journey: to the first stop and from the last stop | 15 |
| Driving Time to Station | Maximum driving time from the departure location to the first station or stop | 30 |
| Cycling Time to Station | Maximum cycling time from the departure location to the first station or stop | 15 |
| Parking Time | Time to park a car or bike at the station or stop | 5 |
| Ferry Boarding Time | Time to board a ferry | 0 |
| Maximum Changes | The most changes between public transport legs a journey may have (0 - 20) | No limit |
| Traffic Model | The traffic assumed for driving. Custom: optimistic, balanced or pessimistic. Core: peak (a midweek morning) or off_peak (night-time). | balanced / peak |
| Disable Border Crossing | Stops journeys crossing international borders | Off |
| Include Roads | Extra road types to allow journeys on: track (unpaved or off-road) and restricted (not publicly accessible, may need a permit) | Neither |
Each option only applies to some transport modes. Public transport modes are public_transport, train, bus, coach, driving+train, driving+public_transport, cycling+public_transport.

| Disable Border Crossing | driving | - |

A - in the Core column means the parameter isn't shown on the Core tools.
Not on the Core tools, and only for public transport modes. Instead of a single departure or arrival time, the tool considers every journey departing or arriving in a time window: the window is added forwards from the departure time, or backwards from the arrival time.
| Description | |
|---|---|
| Search Range Width | The width of the window, in minutes (up to 720). 0 or blank turns the range off. |
| Range Results | Travel Time Matrix and Routes only. How many alternative journeys to return, fastest first (1 - 5). With 2 or more, each alternative is a row in the output, numbered in an alternative field (0 = fastest). |
How the window is used depends on the tool: Isochrone returns the combined area of every journey in it, H3 the cells reachable by any of them, and Travel Time Matrix the fastest. See Range in the API docs for more details.
Snapping is how a location is connected to the nearest road.
| Description | Default | |
|---|---|---|
| Snapping Penalty | enabled includes the walk between the location and the nearest road in the journey. disabled starts and ends the journey on the road. | enabled |
| Snapping Accept Roads | both_drivable_and_walkable excludes motorways and other vehicle-only roads. any_drivable includes them. | both_drivable_and_walkable |
| Snapping Threshold | The furthest a location may be from a road the travel mode can use, in metres. A departure location further away fails the search; an arrival location further away is unreachable. | 1000 |
Isochrone tools only, apart from Remove Water Bodies, which H3 tools have too.
| Description | Default | |
|---|---|---|
| Level of Detail | How detailed the shape is; less detail is faster. simple uses Detail Level, simple_numeric uses Numeric Detail Level, and coarse_grid builds the shape from squares of Grid Square Size. | simple, lowest |
| Detail Level | lowest, low, medium, high or highest | lowest |
| Numeric Detail Level | -20 (least detailed) to 2. -2 matches lowest and 2 matches highest. | - |
| Grid Square Size | The side of each grid square, in metres (600 or more) | - |
| Polygons Limit | The most polygons to return per isochrone, largest first. Use it to drop small islands of reachability. | All |
| Remove Holes | Fills holes in the shape, at some cost in accuracy | Off |
| Render Mode | approximate_time_filter matches Travel Time Matrix results as closely as possible. road_buffering draws the shape as if the roads reached were painted with a wide brush. | approximate_time_filter |
| Buffer Distance | How far from the roads reached a location may be and still count as reachable, in metres (250 or more) | 1000 |
| Remove Water Bodies | Leaves large areas of water (lakes, wide rivers, seas) out of the result | On |
| Flag Walking-only Isochrones | Isochrone Custom only. Adds an is_only_walking field: 1 when an isochrone was reached on foot alone, for example a public transport search where there is none. | Off |
